This handmade lotus-shaped decorative light from the Philippines is crafted from Capiz shells, a unique natural product that has been used as a substitute for glass for centuries. The lotus symbolizes the path from darkness to light, from ignorance to knowledge. It also represents the seven chakras, the most important energy centers in the human body.

Capiz shells are made from the outer layer of a marine mollusk with the scientific name Placuna placenta, also known as the window oyster. These shells owe their name to the city of Capiz on the island of Panay, where they are traditionally harvested from the shallow coastal waters. After careful cleaning, the shells are naturally translucent. In the natural/beige version, when a light is placed inside, a soft and warm play of light is created that radiates peace and harmony.

Capiz shells are a natural product and may have minor imperfections. This makes each mood lamp unique and highlights its handcrafted character. A stylish and timeless decoration for meditation, relaxation, or as an atmospheric accent in your home.
