The pocket stones are sold individually. Each pocket stone weighs between 1 and 5 grams. The photo shows an example from our selection. Stones are natural products, so each pocket stone is unique. We take great care in selecting our pocket stones. As a result, every stone is consistent in quality and weight class.
Amber is a very special stone. While other stones often feel cold to the touch, amber feels warm in your hands. Amber is also known by its English name, ‘Amber.’ It is actually a fossilized resin. A younger variety of this is ‘copal.’ Amber is usually yellow or reddish-brown in color, but occasionally it can also be found in green, blue, or black. It is a light, brittle stone that closely resembles plastic. However, you can easily tell them apart: When rubbed, amber smells like pine and melts when exposed to fire. It also floats in a saturated salt solution and glows under UV light.
Sometimes you can find tiny creatures or bits of plants in amber! This is because amber isn’t actually a stone, but fossilized resin. It takes a very long time for this resin to harden. As it hardens, seeds and insects can sometimes become trapped inside the resin.
